Everything Rego Notes gives you
One registration number in. A complete, saveable vehicle profile out.
The lookup
What a rego check returns
Every successful lookup returns the following fields, where the data provider holds them.
- VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
- The full 17-character VIN recorded against the plate. This is the field most people come to Rego Notes for — it unlocks parts catalogues, compliance records and history reports.
- Make, model and variant
- The manufacturer, model name and the specific variant, so you know exactly which version of a model you are dealing with.
- Year of manufacture
- The build year, which drives parts compatibility, service intervals and valuation.
- Body type
- Sedan, hatch, SUV, coupe, ute and so on — returned as recorded against the registration.
- Transmission
- Automatic or manual, along with transmission detail where the data provider supplies it.
- Estimated market value
- A minimum and maximum market value range, useful for trade-in conversations and quick sanity checks.
- Full description string
- The complete manufacturer description, including engine capacity and drivetrain codes where available.
- NVIC
- The National Vehicle Identification Code, used across the Australian automotive industry for precise vehicle identification.
Beyond the lookup
Why it beats a one-off rego check
Most rego tools give you data and forget it. Rego Notes keeps the vehicle, and everything you recorded about it.
Notes on every vehicle
Attach free-text notes to any lookup — what you quoted, what the customer said, what to check next time.
Issue tracking
Record faults and outstanding items separately from general notes, so problems stay visible.
Saved search history
Every lookup is stored against your account. Come back to a vehicle months later and your notes are still there.
One-tap copy
Copy the VIN, the description or the full detail block in a single tap for pasting into quotes and orders.
Works on any device
Use it on the workshop floor from your phone, or at the desk on a full screen. Everything syncs.
Automatic refunds
If a rego returns no vehicle, the check is credited straight back to your balance.
