What is a rego check?

A rego check takes an Australian vehicle registration number and returns the details recorded against that plate — including the VIN, make, model, year of manufacture, body type, transmission and an estimated market value range.

Which states does Rego Notes support?

All eight Australian states and territories: QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, WA, TAS, NT and ACT. You select the state before running the lookup.

Can I get a VIN from a rego number?

Yes. Converting a registration number to a VIN is the most common reason people use Rego Notes. The 17-character VIN is returned with every successful lookup.

How much does Rego Notes cost?

A single rego check is A$2.00. If you look up vehicles regularly, packs are cheaper per check — 50 checks for A$19.50, or 100 checks for A$29.50. All prices are in Australian dollars. There is no subscription and packs do not expire.

Do I pay again to look up the same vehicle?

No. You are charged once the first time you check a vehicle. Re-checking the same registration in the same state does not use another check — you are shown the details saved from your earlier check, not a fresh lookup, so they may not be current. If you want current details, Refresh fetches them and uses one check.

What happens if a rego is not found?

You are not charged. If the lookup returns no vehicle, the check is automatically refunded to your balance — or, for a single A$2.00 lookup, the payment is refunded to your card.

Can I save notes against a vehicle?

Yes. Every lookup is saved to your history, and you can attach quick notes and track issues against each vehicle. This is what separates Rego Notes from a one-off lookup tool.

Is there a mobile app?

Yes. Rego Notes is available on iOS and Android, and the web app works on any phone, tablet or desktop browser. Your history and notes sync across all of them.
